WEB-BASED SOFTWARE

Kollaborate is our service of choice for collaborating (hence the name) on detailed projects with clients. We find it has more functionality than other similar competing softwares that also doesn't break the bank.

Riverside.fm is a fantastic service for recording interviews with guests anywhere in the world. They are one of the few companies that offers local recording, both audio and video, and allows for live streaming. Their easy to use interface, flexible features and high quality recordings make them our top pick.

After using several other podcasting systems, we find Transistor.fm to be one of the best ones available. They have a very simple and easy to use interface, and allow for multiple podcasts. They also include automatic connection with a lot of listening locations as well. All in all, the combination of being easy to use yet very flexible and powerful makes Transistor.fm our #1 hosting platform for podcasting.

pCloud is our preferred cloud storage solution. Similar to Dropbox, Google Drive or One Drive, pCloud has additional features and functionality that checks all the boxes that we need. We find it is much easier to use than the other services as well.

GoTranscript has the best pricing options we've found that retains the 99% accuracy rate for transcribing any videos or podcasts to text. They can also make captions for a video as well. Use code GT10 to get 10% off.

Headliner is a pretty sweet web application we found that lets you turn your podcasts into animated videos! Best of all, it lets you create 5 for free per month. Great for social media posts!

SCREEN-CAPTURE SOFTWARE

Quicktime X

Did you know Quicktime X has a built-in screen capture ability? Yup, and it works great too. I use this quite often myself, as it is extremely quick and easy to use, high quality and built-in. It’s also free! There are some downsides however. If you’re on a PC, you’re out of luck. No Quicktime X available for PC. It is also lacking editing features, so you’ll have to take your video into another program to do anything besides trimming the beginning and end of your video. Otherwise, Quicktime X is a great option, especially if you're on a budget.

Movavi is a solid medium level screen recorder that works on both Mac & Windows computers. It’s very easy to use, does all the basics needed including editing and exporting. Movavi is a solid choice for those looking for a more all-in-one system but also doesn’t want to break the bank.

If you are looking to go all out, Screenflow is the best there is. It has all the editing tools necessary, and even has a lot of built in effects to enhance the quality of your video and focus in on specific parts of your recording. They also have an added subscription to include stock media pictures and videos built directly into the software, which makes it really easy and cheap to find the visuals you need for your course.

Vimeo has their own chrome web-based screen recorder. We've found it works really well, and is one of the best options if you don't want to install any additional software (all you need is Google Chrome).
